Full-Stack Engineer

About the Role Mercedes-Benz Group AG is seeking a skilled and passionate Full-Stack Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in building scalable web applications using Java-based backend technologies and modern frontend frameworks such as React. The role spans the full software development lifecycle, from backend APIs and database design to frontend UI implementation and deployment activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving, hands-on coding, and collaborative skills in an Agile environment. What You'll Do

• Backend Development
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot
• Implement business logic, validations, and backend integrations
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, and database interactions
• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following best practices
• Debug and resolve production issues
• Frontend Development
• Develop responsive and dynamic user interfaces using React
• Build reusable UI components and frontend modules
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs
• Implement state management and client-side routing
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to deliver intuitive user experiences
• Database & API Integration
• Design and write efficient SQL queries
• Work with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Implement ORM-based persistence using Hibernate / JPA
• Integrate third-party APIs and services
• Software Engineering & Collaboration
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, architects, and product teams
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions
• Write unit and integration tests
• Maintain technical documentation and development standards What We're Looking For
• Strong programming skills in Java 8+
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and Hibernate/JPA
• Good understanding of OOP principles, Collections Framework, exception handling, multithreading, and Streams API
• Strong frontend experience with React, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, and CSS3; knowledge of React Hooks, State management (Redux/Context API), React Router, and API integration using Axios/Fetch; experience building responsive web applications
• Strong SQL fundamentals; experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL; understanding of indexing, joins, and query optimization
• Proficient with Git; build tools such as Maven or Gradle; CI/CD tools like Jenkins; exposure to Docker
• Nice to Have: exposure to Apache Kafka or messaging systems; cloud knowledge in AWS or Azure; exposure to Kubernetes; experience with TypeScript; knowledge of JUnit and Jest
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
