The role holder is responsible for building high-quality, scalable, maintainable and secure software solutions to support the needs of the organisation.
Job Details
Key Responsibilities

Participate in the design and creation of scalable software both internal and customer facing

Write clean, functional code on the front- and back-end

Work with development team, product owners/managers, designers to ideate and deliver software solutions

Design client-side and server-side architecture
-
Build the front-end of applications incorporating appealing visual design
-
Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications, ensuring data integrity, security, and efficiency
-
Write and integrate effective APIs for client-side and server-side applications communication
-
Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
-
Implement security best practices to protect applications against vulnerabilities and threats
-
Maintain legacy code written by other developers, including bug fixes
-
Maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade already existing software
-
Take ownership of the smooth running of all existing applications
-
Participate in code reviews, write and maintain technical documentation, and follow best practices for code management
-
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices

Skills & Competencies
-
Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js, Laravel)

Sound knowledge and experience in one or more back-end/server-side programming languages (PHP, Java, C#, Python, Node.js, .NET)

Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache)

Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git)

Experience with APIs (e.g., RESTful, GraphQL)
-
Familiarity with UI/UX Design concepts
-
Experience developing web and desktop applications; mobile is a plus
-
Experience with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Selenium)
-
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) and package managers
Requirements
- Minimum of Three (3) years’ experience as a fullstack developer, software developer or similar
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree/HND in Computer Science/Information Technology/ Engineering, or related fields
- Relevant certifications in web development, cloud technologies, security, or related fields are a plus (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer, Certified Kubernetes Developer, DevOps)
