About this role

Full-Stack Developer | AI & Automation

  • Hello Management | Remote | Full-Time Contract

About Hello Management

Hello Management is a property management company serving multifamily and build-to-rent communities in Colorado. We're expanding our Technology Department to develop better internal applications, streamline operations, connect business systems, and implement practical AI-powered automation.

We're looking for a skilled, hands-on Full-Stack Developer who wants to contribute to a growing internal technology function and take ownership of meaningful projects.

About the Role

You will work directly with our Technology Manager to develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve our internal Operations Hub, business applications, API integrations, and automation systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role, not a helpdesk or general IT support position.

We're looking for a reliable individual developer who can work closely with our team over the long term, rather than outsourcing individual projects to a rotating team.

You'll collaborate with business stakeholders to turn operational requirements into reliable, secure, tested software.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain web applications, internal dashboards, and operational tools.

  • Build and maintain integrations using APIs, webhooks, and supported third-party interfaces.

  • Implement practical AI-enabled functionality, automated workflows, and internal tools.

  • Maintain and improve existing codebases, database functionality, authentication, and application performance.

  • Write secure, maintainable code with appropriate validation, logging, and error handling.

  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar tools responsibly.

  • Review and test AI-generated changes before incorporating them into production applications.

  • Use GitHub, pull requests, code reviews, staging environments, and QA processes.

  • Follow established engineering, security, documentation, and release standards.

  • Collaborate with our Technology Manager on priorities, architecture decisions, implementation plans, and testing.

  • Maintain progress and documentation in our project management system.

  • Participate in weekly planning and reviews, communicate progress, and flag blockers early.

  • What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining production web applications.

  • Strong practical knowledge of modern frontend and backend development.

  • Experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, or comparable technologies.

  • Experience with SQL databases, APIs, authentication, integrations, and application troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with Git, GitHub, testing, and collaborative development workflows.

  • Experience working within existing applications rather than exclusively building new projects.

  • Ability to use AI-assisted coding tools while independently validating code quality, reliability, and security.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, professional communication, and accountability.

  • Strong written English and spoken proficiency in English or Spanish.

  • Ability to work independently and deliver well-defined technical assignments.

  • A formal degree is welcome but not required. Demonstrated technical skills and completed projects are more important.

  • Nice to Have

  • Next.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Prisma, or Supabase.

  • Docker, AWS, Vercel, cloud hosting, or CI/CD.

  • AI agents, LLM integrations, and agent-based workflows.

  • n8n, Make, or other workflow automation tools.

  • Experience building internal enterprise tools, administrative dashboards, or business management systems.

  • Familiarity with AppFolio or other property management platforms.

  • You do not need experience with every tool listed. We value adaptability and the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies.

  • How We Work

  • Our Technology Department follows a practical Agile/Scrumban approach, using a shared task board, clear priorities, GitHub, testing, documentation, and review before production releases.

  • We value independence, quality, security, and consistent delivery without unnecessary bureaucracy.

  • This is a remote, long-term contractor opportunity with an expected commitment of approximately 40 hours per week.

  • Working hours are flexible, with meaningful agreed overlap during U.S. Mountain Time business hours for collaboration, planning, and reviews.
