FT Frozen Food Dairy Associate

The FT Frozen Food Dairy Associate position at Food Lion in Wilmington, NC involves providing quality customer service within the Perishable Department, maintaining department standards, and maximizing sales while minimizing shrink through proper procedures and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic, fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates
• Use company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO)
• Receive deliveries, code when applicable, rotate stock, and place items in appropriate storage areas
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise comply with policies and guidelines
• Maintain proper product levels in all Perishable Department areas including meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, and ice cream
• Process beef and grinders as directed from the planned production tool and as requested or needed
• Wrap, label, weigh, and stock meat cases as requested or needed
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean grinders as requested or needed
• Clean and sanitize the department properly
• Maintain variety and layout standards
• Ensure advertising and sales promotion materials for the department are utilized correctly
• Understand and adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents; report all accidents per Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with name badge, maintain neat appearance, and adhere to dress code
• Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and the technical requirements of the job
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems
• Ability to meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Proficiency with computers and communication systems required for job functions
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm motions; bend and lift items weighing up to 15 lbs continuously, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs on occasion; able to move up to 2,000 lbs using a pallet jack
• Stand 100% of the time, with frequent short walks
• Ability to handle substances related to cleaning, packaging materials, fresh produce, and household cleaners
• Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasional reaching above shoulder or below waist
• Ability to meet established volume activity standards and tolerate working in extreme temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time
