FT Cake Decorator

Food Lion in Manchester, TN is seeking a full-time Cake Decorator to provide quality customer service within the Deli Bakery Department. The role focuses on maintaining standards per the standard practice manual, maximizing sales through excellent service, and minimizing shrink through proper use of processes and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
• Assist and be courteous to fellow associates
• Understand the use of ingredients, mixes, and icings; coordinate colors for cake decoration
• Follow production standards and technical manuals for processing, labeling, and display of products
• Maintain proper sanitation of the department and equipment; ensure proper food handling and preparation
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise align with policies and guidelines
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices; comply with Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions; report accidents to the Manager on Duty per established procedures
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Wear the Food Lion uniform (apron, name badge) with a neat and clean appearance in line with dress code
• Use company tools such as average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO)
• Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job; ability to use technical information to solve problems
• Ability to meet minimum age requirements for specific functions; able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Physical capability to use computers and other communication systems; perform repetitive hand and arm motions; bend and lift up to 15 lbs continuously, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally; push/pull up to 75 lbs occasionally; stand for long periods; handle cleaning and packaging substances; reach and grasp at various heights; tolerate extreme temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance and adherence to Food Lion dress code; demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
