About the Role MandM is seeking a Frontend Engineer to build high-quality UI components and customer-facing applications using React and Next.js. You will own the frontend space, collaborating with cross-functional squads to translate user needs into accessible, robust experiences. You will set the standard for modern web development and mentor others to help grow a healthy engineering culture.

What You'll Do

  • Develop scalable React and Next.js applications with well-defined component boundaries.
  • Build modern UI libraries or integrate with existing ones to ensure a consistent look and feel across apps.
  • Design and document component library standards and patterns; connect frontend to backend services via RESTful APIs.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineers to own testing quality; write clean, accessible code with robust unit tests; establish frontend testing strategies using Jest and Playwright.
  • Proactively pitch technical ideas, optimize performance (bundle size, rendering, Core Web Vitals); audit site speed with Lighthouse; design secure, performant GCP CDN solutions.
  • Drive collaboration, accessibility and mentorship; promote a test-and-learn culture; coach junior engineers; explain complex concepts clearly to stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong hands-on experience with React and Next.js; building user interfaces and customer-facing apps.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and maintain component libraries and standards.
  • Demonstrated focus on accessibility and user-centered design; advocate for genuine user needs.
  • Experience with testing and quality ownership; familiarity with Jest, Playwright; good knowledge of RESTful APIs.
  • Interest in performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and modern web standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to mentor others.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building or maintaining component libraries/UI libraries or design systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud delivery networks and performance tooling like Lighthouse.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Career growth opportunities.
  • Staff discounts and company pension.
  • Generous holiday allowance: 5 weeks, with option to buy an extra week.
