About the Role
Tomedes is seeking an experienced Freelance English–Haitian Creole Translator to join our global network of language professionals. This fully remote role involves translating diverse content between English and Haitian Creole for international clients across a wide range of industries. You will deliver accurate, culturally appropriate translations that meet the highest quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Translate documents, websites, marketing materials, and other content between English and Haitian Creole with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
- Preserve the meaning, tone, and intent of source texts across all translation projects.
- Proofread and edit translated content for fluency, consistency, grammar, and terminology.
- Adapt translations to suit the target audience while maintaining linguistic and cultural accuracy.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery and exceptional quality.
- Translate a variety of content, including legal, business, technical, medical, marketing, educational, and general documents.
What We're Looking For
- Native or near-native fluency in both English and Haitian Creole.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of professional translation experience.
- Excellent written communication skills in both languages.
- Experience with CAT tools such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, Phrase, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple translation projects simultaneously.
Nice to Have
- Specialization in legal, medical, technical, or business translation is a plus.
