About the Role Tomedes is seeking an experienced Freelance English–Chuj Translator to join our global network of language professionals. This is a fully remote role involving the translation of diverse content between English and Chuj for international clients across a wide range of industries. You will work on a project basis, delivering accurate, culturally appropriate translations that meet the highest quality standards. What You'll Do
- Translate documents, websites, marketing materials, and other content between English and Chuj with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
- Preserve the meaning, tone, and intent of source texts across all translation projects.
- Proofread and edit translated content for fluency, consistency, grammar, and terminology.
- Adapt translations to suit the target audience while maintaining linguistic and cultural accuracy.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery and exceptional quality.
- Translate a variety of content, including legal, business, technical, medical, marketing, educational, and general documents. What We're Looking For
- Native or near-native fluency in both English and Chuj.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of professional translation experience.
- Excellent written communication skills in both languages.
- Experience with CAT tools such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, Phrase, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple translation projects simultaneously. Nice to Have
- Specialization in legal, medical, technical, or business translation is a plus.
