About the Role KPIX is looking for a highly talented part-time video editor with a passion for news and experience using non-linear editing equipment. This freelance/temporary role includes ENG duties as part of regular responsibilities in a fast-paced television newsroom. What You'll Do
- Edit video packages and segments using Grass Valley Edius (preferred) and other non-linear editing tools in a fast-paced TV news environment.
- Perform ENG duties as part of regular responsibilities.
- Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines, collaborating with the newsroom team.
- Maintain a detail-oriented, deadline-driven approach; be flexible with schedule, including nights, overnights, and weekends as needed.
- Provide a demo reel demonstrating editing abilities when applying. What We're Looking For
- 2-5 years of experience in a fast-paced television news environment.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to juggle multiple projects.
- Creative, poised team player with strong communication.
- Proficiency with Grass Valley Edius editing system is preferred.
- Ability to work nights/overnights/weekends as needed and adapt to a dynamic newsroom. Nice to Have
