Fraud Investigation Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fraud Investigations Specialist to join a premier financial services organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting the organization and its customers by identifying, investigating, and mitigating potential financial crimes and illegal activity.

This position operates on a hybrid schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office, Monday and Friday remote, plus a Saturday rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate Fraud & Illegal Activity: Conduct thorough investigations into suspected cases of fraud, policy violations, or illegal acts involving internal staff, vendors, or external third parties.

  • Law Enforcement & Legal Coordination: Gather, document, and organize evidence for presentation to law enforcement agencies and judicial proceedings as needed.

  • Case Management: Maintain comprehensive case documentation and handle evidence strictly in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements.

  • Risk Mitigation & Protection: Monitor and act on threats to customer accounts and organizational assets to safeguard financial integrity and reputation.

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate with team members, explain policies and practices clearly, and recommend appropriate resolution steps for complex fraud cases.

  • Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.

  • Experience: 3+ years of direct experience in fraud investigations, anti-money laundering (AML), financial crimes, or risk management within financial services.

  • Core Competencies:

  • Practical, hands-on knowledge of fraud prevention strategies and investigation tactics.

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision to solve challenging problems.

  • Strong investigative analysis, critical thinking, and evidence-gathering skills.

  • Clear oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail.

Salary

  • $28 - $38 per hour
  • shift: First
  • work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
