FP&A Director
Robert Half Management Resources is looking for an accomplished FP&A Director to join one of our clients on an interim basis. This role will work closely with senior finance leadership to guide enterprise planning activities, deliver decision-ready insights, and shape materials for executive audiences. The position calls for a leader who can direct a team while remaining deeply involved in forecasting, analysis, and sophisticated financial modeling.
Partner with the VP of FP&A to steer companywide planning priorities and provide financial insight that supports strategic decisions.
Oversee the full budgeting cycle and recurring forecast processes, including 9+3 projections, ensuring assumptions are aligned with business performance drivers.
Lead the preparation of executive and board-level presentations by translating detailed financial results into clear, compelling narratives.
Collaborate with departmental leaders and business stakeholders to strengthen accountability, improve forecast accuracy, and align financial plans with operating goals.
Build, evaluate, and refine complex Excel-based models covering revenue, gross margin, and operating expenses to support planning and scenario analysis.
Guide and mentor FP&A team members by reviewing output, setting priorities, and maintaining high analytical standards.
Perform variance analysis and interpret trends to identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
8+ years of progressive experience in corporate FP&A, including leadership at the Senior Manager or Director level. Demonstrated success managing annual budgets, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and longer-range financial planning activities. Strong background creating board-ready and executive-level presentations that communicate complex financial information effectively. Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise with the ability to develop and audit detailed financial models and scenario analyses. Industry experience in IT services, technology solutions, or hardware/software resale environments is strongly preferred. Proven ability to lead and develop finance professionals while staying hands-on with analysis and deliverables. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another quantitative discipline; additional credentials are a plus.
