Job title: Foundry Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift
About the Role Located on-site at Watts Foundry in Franklin, NH, the Foundry Maintenance Mechanic will maintain, test and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. They will triage work and apply knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment to operation. This role reports to the Foundry Maintenance Supervisor and operates on-site in Franklin, NH. Standard hours are 2:10 pm - 12:40 am (2nd shift).
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment.
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, materials properties, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
- Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
- Informs appropriate management and maintenance mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
- Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting and may train other members of the maintenance team.
- Travel up to 10% for training as needed.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
- Computer experience/operation and PLC programming; ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to interface clearly with line operators and other personnel; strong communication skills.
- Willing to work overtime; high degree of precision with minimum tolerances.
- Understanding of applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations and safety practices.
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing.
- Physical requirements: able to stand for long periods; lift/carry up to 35 pounds; push/pull up to 35 pounds; move around the manufacturing floor; read documents; wear PPE.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cutting, welding and fabrication.
- Ability to cover other shifts.
