About the role

We are seeking a Founding Backend Engineer to join a US-headquartered payments startup. This is a unique opportunity to be the first engineer and lead the technical build of an innovative platform aiming to transform the $7 trillion US credit card market by enabling merchants to offer discounts to customers who pay through lower-cost methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the backend systems from scratch and make critical technical decisions.
• Collaborate closely with leadership to shape the product and technology strategy.
• Develop scalable, reliable, and secure payment processing infrastructure.
• Work fully remotely, contributing to a high-impact startup environment.
