Job Title: Formulation Lab Technician

Location: 500 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY 10591 (100% onsite)

Interview Process - 1 round of in-person interview

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or related field with 0-2 years of formulation experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Be able to follow a set formula and procedure provided by industry-experienced chemists to create finished formulations in personal care.
• Must have good problem-solving, decision-making, and organization skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain a laboratory notebook, as a professional legal document.
• Basic understanding and some experience of formulation development in personal care or related field a plus.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures, e.g., pH meter, Brookfield Viscometer, stand mixers, Silverson homogenizers, etc., a plus.
• Ability to follow all laboratory safety procedures, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and work at a laboratory bench for up to eight hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, optimize, and evaluate cosmetic formulations across Hair Care, Skin Care, Sun Care, and Oral Care applications.

• Perform and track prototype stability and compatibility. Formulate, scale up, and fill formulated samples and assemble in kits for sales promotion.

• Support prototype development for innovation programs, customer projects, ingredient launches, and marketing concepts.

• Assist scientists with formulation scale-up activities and manufacturing procedure optimization.

• Prepare prototypes and presentation samples for customer meetings, demonstrations, and trade shows.

• Conduct stability testing and monitor product performance against established specifications.

• Maintain laboratory equipment and support calibration verification activities in accordance with ISO 9001 quality requirements.

• Ensure laboratories remain organized, safe, and fully operational.

• Maintain accurate formulation records, experimental data, and laboratory documentation.

• Create Safety Data Sheets (SDS), sample requests, and product-related documentation through applicable business systems.
