Job title: Forklift/Reach Truck Driver
A forklift/reach truck driver is needed to join the Steering Rack Assembly team based in Durban. The role provides ongoing support to TSAM & TTAF by receiving, unpacking, preparing, feeding the assembly line, as well as storing and picking finished goods to meet milk-run collection and operational requirements.
What You'll Do
- Complete the machine checklist daily and report defects
- Conduct daily battery check and maintenance if required
- Maintain and control stock; ensure accuracy of stock received, put away and dispatched
- Ensure safe handling of pallets and modules and adhere to stacking requirements
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures / Work Instructions to ensure quality
- Comply with safety standards to prevent accidents and/or incidents
- Willing to work overtime to support customer demand and ensure continuous customer satisfaction
- Conduct daily bin audit with strict FIFO
- Assist with stock take preparation and participate in regular stock counts
- Conduct housekeeping daily (5S activities)
- Participate in Kaizen events and submit near-misses to ensure continuous improvement
- Report any defects or irregularities to uphold safety and quality
- Daily tasks are not limited to the above
What We're Looking For
- Matric with Numeracy and Literacy
- Valid Forklift & Reach Truck licences
- Driving experience (minimum 2 years on both machines)
- Visual inspection and confirmation ability
- Knowledge of Safety and ISO standards
- SAP system and scanner usage
- Understanding of SAP / FIFO principles
- Material handling experience
- Kanban knowledge (advantageous)
Nice to Have
- Kanban system knowledge (advantageous)
