About the Role The role involves maintaining, servicing and repairing material handling equipment and related systems on company premises to meet customer and company requirements. You will also maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records. The position emphasizes timely, cost-effective service and effective communication with customers and workshop staff.
What You'll Do
- Service and maintain material handling equipment, ensuring forklift serviceability to standards and procedures
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns; communicate needed repairs to customers or supervisor
- Update and maintain vehicle maintenance data/history, ensuring timely and accurate records
- Provide courteous, professional customer service; maintain effective communication with self, workshop staff, and customers
- Maintain a safe work environment; ensure OHSACT compliance and vehicle safety device operations
- Follow established standards, procedures, and legal regulations; pursue ongoing knowledge through education opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience pertaining to forklifts
- General working knowledge of auto electrical systems (ignition, starting, charging, illumination)
- Excellent work ethic; honest, reliable, hardworking and dedicated to quality
- Strong prioritising and multi-tasking skills with a strong sense of urgency; problem solving and decision-making ability
- Excellent communication skills with people at all levels; ability to liaise effectively with customers and colleagues
- Dedication to service excellence with attention to detail and accuracy
- Trade qualification plus experience with forklifts or similar material handling equipment; or Qualified Forklift Mechanic
- Trade test certificate
- Code 8 / EB driver's licence
- Valid forklift operator licence
