Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, locate, stack, load, and unload products and materials within a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing facility, or storage yard. The role requires adherence to safety regulations, accuracy in inventory handling, and efficient movement of goods to support operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.

Transport raw materials, finished goods, and pallets throughout the facility.

Stack and store products in designated warehouse locations.

Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.

Verify product quantities and labels against shipping and receiving documents.
-
Assist with inventory counts and stock management activities.
-
Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory transactions.

Follow company policies, OSHA regulations, and workplace safety procedures.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.

Support shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations as needed.

Report damaged products, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to supervisors.

Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
-
Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment preferred.

Basic understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations.

Ability to read and understand shipping documents and work instructions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Safe forklift operation techniques.

Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.

Ability to lift, move, and transport materials safely.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Basic computer and handheld scanner skills preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to operate equipment for extended periods.

Comfortable working in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.

Good vision and depth perception for equipment operation and product handling.

Exposure to moving machinery, forklift traffic, and varying noise levels.
