Job title: Forklift Operator
About the Role DHL Supply Chain is hiring a Forklift Operator to move stock within the warehouse and yard, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and support dock operations. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using various types of forklifts or other power equipment (80% of shift).
- Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and types of product is loaded.
- Keep appropriate records and reports for inventory accuracy.
- Comply with all OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Verify load accuracy; check the load count, stability, and product damage; report variances as necessary.
- Change equipment battery or LP tank and monitor power source as necessary.
- Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Inspect trailers and equipment for damage and safety issues; position equipment safely and accurately; move trailers and containers within the yard.
- Assist in audits and inventory control related to trailers and yard assets.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and CSR (Customer Service Representative).
- Support dock operations and other duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to operate stand-up, sit-down, or clamp forklifts and electric pallet jacks (or willingness to learn).
- Safety-focused mindset; ability to comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Team oriented; strong communication with warehouse staff and CSR.
- Experience or ability to move and handle shipments and load/unload shipments.
- Basic equipment checks and yard organization skills.
