Job title: Forging Helper

About the Role The forging helper supports the forging crew by performing tasks that facilitate the fabrication of forged products according to customer orders. This role involves basic operation, setup, and maintenance of tooling and equipment, and strict adherence to safety and quality policies.

What You'll Do

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of the press/hammer crew and assist during operation of the press or hammer.
  • Read and interpret shop travelers, operating procedures, daily production reports, and other work instructions.
  • Sweep dies, operate furnace controls (door, hearth and car), clean and lubricate dies, function as scale blower, and operate tools required to set dies and trimmers.
  • After training, gain basic knowledge of materials and forging practices; safe operation of floor manipulators.
  • Set up and use impression stamps.
  • Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and all PCC Cardinal Rules (Quality and Safety).
  • Seek clarification from superiors or authorized representatives when policy or procedures are unclear.

What We're Looking For

  • Basic understanding of forging practices and materials after training.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop travelers, procedures, and production reports.
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and work with the forging crew.
  • Commitment to safety and quality compliance (PCC Cardinal Rules).
  • Team-oriented with ability to follow directions from supervisors.
