Job title: Forge Foreman
About the Role This is a full-time on-site supervisory position in Precision Castparts' forging operations. The Forge Foreman coordinates the day’s forging schedules, directs assigned personnel, and collaborates with the Foreman and supervisors to maximize press utilization while ensuring safe, orderly material flow.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate the day’s forging schedule with Press Crew, GFM Crew, Pyrometer and Supervisor; Forge Tables should be present for all material to be forged; Receive Forge Tables and Manufacturing Order Cards from the Supervisor; Arrange the schedule for maximum press utilization.
- Direct the direction of assigned personnel; move material from operation to operation or to load or unload trucks; operate overhead cranes, cranes, and forklift trucks; hook and unhook cranes.
- Maintain a clean work area; perform janitorial functions throughout plant, offices, locker/rest rooms, cafeteria, and other areas of plant as directed by Foreman; wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
- Operate overhead crane and forklift trucks; segregate, weigh, and prepare scrap material for shipment; grind intermediate cut material to remove burrs from cut faces.
- Perform other duties as directed (5S Projects, Continuous Improvement Projects, etc.).
What We're Looking For
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 25 pounds; push/pull 20 lbs; bend and squat at least 10 times per hour; climb stairs and ladders; wear respiratory protection; able to operate forklifts (Pendant Controlled Cranes, Overhead Cranes, Lift Trucks).
- Ability to follow instructions from the Foreman and work with Recorder or other personnel to move material between operations or to load/unload trucks; operate cranes, hook and unhook cranes, and operate fork trucks.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting, safety-conscious, capable of janitorial duties and maintaining clean work areas; basic knowledge of scrap segregation and weighing; use of basic hand tools and grinders.
- Willingness to work Monday through Saturday with 8-hour shifts; overtime may be mandated (up to 12 hours per week) or volunteered.
- 5S/Continuous Improvement mindset and ability to participate in related projects.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Lean/5S or continuous improvement initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $30.09 per hour (USD).
- Eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on company performance in the applicable quarter.
