About this role

About the Role Lead field crew in laying and connecting storm drainage, sanitary sewers, drains, and water mains while ensuring safety and quality on infrastructure projects. This hands-on supervisory role requires coordinating tasks, adhering to project plans, and delivering results that benefit communities. What You'll Do

  • Lay pipe for storm drainage, sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
  • Grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints.
  • Install and repair sanitary and stormwater sewer structures and pipe systems.
  • Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
  • Install and use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels.
  • Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
  • Cut pipes to required lengths.
  • Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and practices as described in the company safety manual.
  • Education: less than High School Diploma.
  • Experience: three or more years related construction experience preferred.
  • Physical Activity Level: Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
  • Manual Dexterity: Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Working Conditions: Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions. Compensation & Benefits
