Job title: Food Service Worker (K-12 School Lunch Program)
About the Role Metz Culinary Management at Middletown Area School District is seeking Food Service Workers for the 26/27 school year. We have openings for full and part-time roles in a busy K-12 school cafe setting. This is a great opportunity for culinary grads who enjoy a team-driven dining service environment.
What You'll Do
- Culinary Team Members: frontline and back-of-house duties in a hospitality-driven, multi-dining-outlet setting, including plating, setup/teardown of café, restaurant, or retail spaces; assist in kitchen prep, dish room, dry stock and perishable inventories, and sanitation; bring a SMILE and strong work ethic in a TEAM environment.
- Line and Prep Cooks: prepare and present meals following Executive Chef menus; inventory and portion ingredients; assist in kitchen prep, dish room, dry stock and sanitation.
- Catering Team Members: assist with catering events from setup to breakdown, creating beautiful food displays and delivering outstanding hospitality for events ranging from casual lunches to black-tie affairs.
- Cafeteria Substitutes: as-needed substitutions to cover busy K-12 kitchen operations, with duties including plating, setup/teardown, prep, inventory, and sanitation; must bring a SMILE and team spirit.
What We're Looking For
- Hospitality experience desired; a SMILE is required.
- Willingness to roll up sleeves and contribute where needed; able to work in a TEAM environment.
- Ability to apply elementary math for inventory and portioning; strong work ethic.
- Experience is valued but we’re willing to train candidates with a passion for food. Experience in resort settings is ideal but not required.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a resort environment is ideal but training is available.
