Job title: Food Service Associate II
About the Role The Food Service Associate II provides outstanding customer service for cafeteria operations and prepares grilled and fried foods following standardized recipes. The role supports safe food handling and contributes to inventory control within Bay Area Hospital's Food and Nutrition department.
What You'll Do
- Provide outstanding customer service in cafeteria operations.
- Prepare grilled and fried foods following standardized recipes.
- Operate equipment including knives, scales, thermometers, portion control devices, coffee makers, yogurt machine, broiler, steam table, pizza oven, grill, deep fryer, french fry warmer, pizza display case, cash register, computer, telephone, calculator.
- Proficiently handle portioning and garnishing; ensure quality and presentation.
- Manage inventory using FIFO method and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Assist with cash handling and accurate use of cash register.
What We're Looking For
- Six (6) months of experience in food services; previous experience frying and grilling foods preferred.
- Able to read, write legibly, and converse in English; able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain an Oregon Food Handler or Food Manager Certification or ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Oregon State Driver’s license preferred.
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend frequently; may lift up to 50 pounds; must wear protective clothing as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively; work may be in uncomfortably high temperature and humidity, sometimes on wet surfaces.

- Minimum: Depending on Experience; Maximum: Depending on Experience (This represents the rate for an individual with significant experience in this job).
