About the Role The floater teacher, assistant floater and substitute staff support the lead teacher in meeting classroom and children's needs, ensuring compliance with SFF policies and the school's guidelines, and actively contributing to the children's holistic development while maintaining physical, emotional, and social well-being in a safe and enriching environment. This role requires fluent Spanish/English communication and collaborative teamwork with the school community. What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and implement pedagogical activities aligned with SFF policies and DCDEE regulations.
  • Assist in organizing and supervising daily classroom activities, maintain attendance, and report incidents to the lead teacher or admin.
  • Ensure all activities comply with DCDEE regulations and SFF standards; supervise materials to keep them safe and disinfected.
  • Participate in planning meetings, trainings, and school events; help prepare and execute events that support children and families.
  • Maintain safety and sanitation in the classroom; monitor hygiene practices (handwashing) and keep spaces organized.
  • Promote positive interactions among children; provide emotional and physical support as needed; adapt to individual needs. What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma plus NC Early Childhood credentials (with at least 18 credits in Early Childhood) or BA in Education/Psychology; AA/AAS in Early Childhood Development.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English.
  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable early childhood experience.
  • CPR/First Aid certification; SIDS certification; DHHS Criminal Background Check.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivation, initiative; ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Creative problem-solving; teamwork and positive relationships with colleagues and families.
  • Physical agility to move around the classroom (kneeling, crouching, crawling, running, jumping) and to interact with children at their level. Nice to Have
