Are you a proactive Structural Engineer with hands-on experience in solar installations and roof structures? Do you enjoy working autonomously and take pride in delivering precise, well-documented structural work? One of our clients is looking for a Flex Structural Engineer to join their team, supporting solar energy projects in the Bahamas. This is a flexible role designed to fit your schedule while contributing to meaningful renewable energy work.

What you will do
- Prepare structural drawings and documentation for roof-mounted, ground-mounted, and wall-mounted solar systems.
- Evaluate existing building and roof structures to determine their capacity to support solar installations.
- Assess and document the additional loads generated by solar systems and their racking/support components.
- Develop structural calculations and supporting documentation using Excel.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Participate in regular video calls to review work and coordinate priorities with the team.
What you'll need to know
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Advanced English level.
- Proven experience in structural design for solar installations, including racking and support systems.
- Experience developing structural drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of building structures, particularly roof structures.
- Ability to evaluate and document load impacts from solar systems on existing structures.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Autonomous and proactive work style, with the ability to manage your own workload.
A great plus
- Prior experience designing solar structures for high-wind or hurricane-prone regions.
