Job title: Fitness Attendant - Lewis Center (26/27) - FWS Student
About the Role The fitness attendant monitors the fitness center area to ensure all users are exercising in a safe manner. The attendant will also assist with questions and help with exercise techniques.
What You'll Do
- Welcome, greet and provide assistance to facility users
- Provide safe and effective instruction for all cardiovascular and resistance training equipment
- Provide safe advice to individuals regarding their exercise program and/or use of equipment
- Maintain and clean exercise equipment
- Enforce all facility rules
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
What We're Looking For
- Experience with a resistance training and cardiovascular exercise
- Ability to use and operate resistance training and cardiovascular equipment
- Ability to assist individuals in developing a safe and effective exercise program
- Good communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Nice to Have
- Ability to help all patrons of fitness center with any exercise programming needs
- Kinesiology Major/Minor
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $16.90
- Schedule: M-Th 7a to 11pm, Fri 7a to 7pm, Sat & Sun 9a – 3p; set schedule for the semester; position begins August 17
- Federal Work Study (FWS) – Part-Time student position
- Paid Sick Leave: one hour for every 30 hours worked, max 24 hours per year, capped at 48 hours
- University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – employee voluntary contributions (excluding wages from federal work study funds)
- ACA medical coverage eligibility for employees working 30+ hours per week
