About the Role Reports to the Site Manager, the First Class Chief Power Engineer & Environmental Manager will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of energy systems while leading all aspects of site environmental activities. This person will contribute to optimizing energy performance and reducing environmental impact. What You'll Do
- Oversee powerhouse operations (boilers, steam, water systems, and utilities)
- Plan shutdowns, inspections, and preventive/corrective maintenance
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards
- Optimize equipment performance and reliability
- Manage environmental programs (air, water, waste, GHGs)
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and permits
- Lead audits and regulatory reporting
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote a strong safety culture
- Lead, coach, and develop team members; plan schedules and ensure operational coverage
- Ensure required training and certifications
- Identify and lead energy efficiency and emission reduction projects What We're Looking For
- Valid 1st Class Power Engineer certification (mandatory)
- 5–10 years of experience in an industrial environment
- Experience in team leadership and regulatory compliance
- Higher education in engineering or environmental field (asset)
- Strong leadership and team engagement; high level of accountability and attention to detail; analytical and problem-solving skills Nice to Have
