Job title: Fire Sprinkler Technician
About the Role Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Technician to service and repair sprinkler and suppression systems for commercial and industrial applications. You will respond to service calls, troubleshoot equipment, and perform repairs on systems to maintain safety and reliability in mission-critical environments.
What You'll Do
- Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, obtain a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions, and contact the customer representative to ascertain problems.
- Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems, including wet (steel, copper, CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge and fire pumps.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operation manuals.
- Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service with strong organizational skills and a positive attitude; learn quickly; and work well independently.
- Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
- Adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to sprinkler and suppression systems.
- Licenses required by National, State and Local codes.
- Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include lifting up to 70 lbs and working in challenging positions (ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment up to 60 feet; ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings).
- Ability to read and understand all safety requirements of the company and customer.
- Demonstrated safety-conscious approach and ability to work alone.
- NICET Level II certification is a plus (preferred).

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
- Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role; exceptional candidates may warrant consideration beyond the stated range.
