Job title: Fire Safety Inspector
About the Role The Fire Safety Inspector role is part of UCSF Facilities Services (FS), which maintains a safe and exceptional campus environment to support research, teaching, health care and community service. The Fire and Life Safety Unit within FS is responsible for fire life safety systems, including fire alarm systems, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards across UCSF campuses. This position sits within Campus Life Services and contributes to a high-performing, collaborative facilities organization.
What You'll Do
- Inspect and maintain fire safety and life safety systems to ensure code compliance and campus safety.
- Perform regular inspections of fire alarm systems, emergency notification systems, and other life safety equipment.
- Identify deficiencies, document findings, and coordinate remediation with Facilities Services and building stakeholders.
- Collaborate with unit teams across Mission Bay, Parnassus, and other campuses as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of fire codes, NFPA standards, and life safety best practices.
- Experience in facilities management, construction, or safety inspections.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
