About the Role Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Detection Systems Technician 4 to install, inspect, and maintain fire detection systems in Nashville, TN. This on-site role focuses on system reliability, safety compliance, and timely service delivery. What You'll Do
- Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems.
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective repair solutions on-site.
- Document service activities, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with company and NFPA standards.
- Coordinate with customers, project managers, and field staff to deliver high-quality service.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in a safe and organized manner. What We're Looking For
- Prior experience as a fire alarm or life-safety systems technician or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of fire detection systems and related codes/standards (e.g., NFPA).
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred. Nice to Have
- NICET certification or similar fire alarm certifications.
- Prior experience with Johnson Controls systems or similar platforms.
- Mechanical or electrical trades background.
