About the Role The Finisher will perform finishing operations on metal castings (turbine components or comparable weights 5–50 pounds) and operate all related equipment to meet quality and production standards. This role emphasizes safety, proper handling of hazardous materials, and adherence to engineering efficiency targets.
What You'll Do
- Operate belting, stoning and gauging equipment to finish metal castings (5–50 lbs).
- Handle hazardous waste in accordance with MSDS and company policy.
- Perform clean and cap operations, mold prep, dewax, mega dip and other related tasks including maintaining automated equipment.
- Meet the specific efficiency standards as established by Engineering.
- Record daily work and the correct distribution of worktime identifying same by operational codes.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly, following all safety rules.
- Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating finishing processes for metal castings (belting, stoning, gauging).
- Ability to handle hazardous waste per MSDS and company policy.
- Familiarity with clean and cap operations, mold prep, dewax, flash fire and related tasks.
- Commitment to safety rules and a clean, orderly work environment.
- Strong record-keeping skills and attention to detail to track daily work and time by operational codes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to interact with customers, co-workers and supervisors.
