You will ensure the right products are available at the right time, while optimizing inventory, service level, and manufacturing constraints. You will work closely with Production, Customer Service, Logistics, Quality, and the central Supply Chain team to balance priorities and manage exceptions.
Key Responsibilities
-
Build and maintain the finished goods plan for the site, aligning with demand forecasts, customer orders, and supply constraints.
-
Convert the supply plan into short- and mid-term production requirements, ensuring feasibility with manufacturing and packaging capacities.
-
Monitor and optimize inventory levels (safety stock, slow movers, obsolescence risk) while maintaining target customer service levels.
-
Manage order prioritization and allocation in case of constraints, in coordination with Customer Service and Sales (and per agreed governance).
-
Identify risks and constraints (capacity, raw materials, packaging, quality release, logistics) and drive mitigation actions.
-
Coordinate with Logistics/Warehousing to ensure availability, shipment readiness, and dispatch plans.
-
Maintain planning master data and parameters in ERP/APS tools (e.g., SAP, APO/IBP, OMP or equivalent): lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, production calendars.
-
Track and report key KPIs: OTIF/service level, inventory turns, forecast bias/accuracy (where applicable), backorders, plan adherence.
-
Lead/participate in planning routines (daily/weekly scheduling meetings, S&OE, input to S&OP) and continuous improvement initiatives.
-
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
-
Experience in production planning / finished goods planning / supply planning in a manufacturing environment (chemicals or process industry is a plus).
-
Strong analytical skills and ability to manage trade-offs between service, cost, and inventory.
-
Proficiency with ERP/APS systems (SAP strongly preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
-
Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
-
Fluent in English; Italian is a plus.
-
Preferred Skills
-
Experience with S&OP / S&OE processes and exception-based planning.
-
Knowledge of planning concepts: MPS/MRP, safety stock logic, lead times, lot sizing, allocation rules.
-
Familiarity with KPI-driven continuous improvement (Lean supply chain).
-
Experience in regulated or quality-sensitive environments (e.g., batch release constraints).
-
We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
-
The Italian annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is between € 30000 to € 35000.
-
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualification and internal equity and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range.
