The Financial Data Analyst plays a key role in the ratings and research process by analyzing issuer financial documents, adjusting reported data, and supporting analysts with accurate and timely financial information.
Apply accounting and finance knowledge to perform financial statement analysis, adjust reported data per relevant methodology requirements, and review and analyze financial ratios. Review and interpret financial statements, official statements, and other issuer documents to assess financial performance. Collaborate directly with ratings and support analysts to communicate data findings, adjustments, and other relevant financial information. Partner with accounting specialists to understand and apply accounting concepts to specific entities and reporting situations. Build and maintain documentation and provide mentorship and guidance to support analysts and outsourcing partners. Review, adjust, and publish financial data for external market participants in a timely and accurate manner. Contribute to special projects such as technology initiatives, accounting standard changes, analytic reviews, methodology updates, and operational improvement efforts. Participate in training sessions and knowledge transfer activities with analysts to support ongoing professional development and career growth.
