Financial Analyst

About the Role

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join a hospitality organization in New York, NY on a Contract basis during a high-volume budgeting and month-end reporting period. This role will provide analytical and accounting support across multiple properties and business units, helping maintain accurate financial records and timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound financial judgment, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. What You'll Do

• Support daily accounting operations by reviewing transactions, preparing entries, and helping maintain accurate financial records across multiple business units.

• Assist with budget development by compiling financial data, validating assumptions, and preparing information for budget uploads and reporting.

• Perform contract reviews to identify financial terms, summarize key obligations, and support accurate accounting treatment.

• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports that help leadership evaluate operating results and business performance.

• Conduct variance analysis by comparing actual results to budget and prior periods, then highlight meaningful trends and exceptions.

• Use data analysis techniques to gather, organize, and interpret large datasets in support of financial decision-making.

• Contribute to month-end close activities by reconciling accounts, resolving discrepancies, and meeting reporting deadlines.

• Partner with stakeholders across locations to collect financial information, answer reporting questions, and support ongoing planning needs.

• Experience in financial analysis, accounting support, or a closely related finance role.

• Strong capability in financial modeling, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.

• Proven ability to perform variance analysis and translate findings into clear business insights.

• Proficiency in working with large datasets and applying data mining techniques to identify patterns and issues.

• Solid understanding of budgeting, month-end close processes, and financial statement support.

• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when managing multiple priorities.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and locations. What We're Looking For

• Salary: 27.55 - 31.90 USD per hour.
