Job title: Financial Analyst IV

About the Role Medica’s Financial Analyst IV is responsible for analyzing financial data for our Individual Family Business (IFB) and Commercial segment finance teams. This role maintains and updates financial models and reporting analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. This position will work to improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management. Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, summaries, and presentations materials for leadership reviews. Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop financial analysis and support decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze financial data for IFB and Commercial segment finance teams.
  • Maintain and update financial models and reporting analyses to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, summaries, and leadership presentation materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial analyses and support decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience in data analysis, financial reporting, financial analysis, and/or forecasting.
  • Expert or advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with budget and forecasting cycles within a complex organization.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting (preferred).
  • TM1 and/or SQL experience desired.
  • Knowledge of the health insurance industry, operations, and key expense drivers (preferred).
  • Ability to present data in a consumable format; detail oriented; problem solving; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice to Have

  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of the health insurance industry operations and key expense drivers.
  • Knowledge and experience with GAAP and statutory accounting.
  • Experience presenting and preparing materials for leadership in a clear and concise manner.
  • Adaptability and fast learning ability; solution-oriented project management skills.
  • TM1 and/or SQL experiences desired.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The full salary grade for this position is $88,800 - $152,300.
  • While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $88,800 - $133,245.

  • This position is onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, with an average of 3 days per week onsite.
