Job title: Financial Advisor Assistant
About the Role This in-office role provides administrative, operational and client servicing support to Truist Financial Advisors to ensure responsive service when Advisors are unavailable.
What You'll Do
- Assist Financial Advisors in servicing clients including preparing financial plans, conducting investment research, and completing client trades and transactions.
- Receive and place orders as directed, respond to queries regarding market information, quotes, and trading features such as GTC expiration dates and settlement.
- Process corporate actions requiring a license (tender offers, optional dividends, exercise of warrants/rights).
- Schedule and confirm client appointments; enter data in Salesforce; create meeting agendas and summaries; coordinate marketing events; perform administrative tasks (answer/return calls, expense reports, routine client correspondence, and maintenance of client records).
- Manage the Financial Advisor's calendar to maximize productivity by minimizing travel time and preparing for presentations and questions.
- Maximize sales opportunities by contacting potential investment clients using internal and bank leads; apply product and industry knowledge to identify sales potential.
- Provide operational guidance to Financial Advisors (systems navigation, document fulfillment).
- Ensure new business paperwork is accurately submitted, including preparing forms, obtaining signatures, submission and follow-up of new accounts.
- Mitigate risk through authentication standards, including authentication callbacks for high-risk transactions (third-party distributions, profile changes, wires).
- Maintain a professional environment and create a positive impression.
- Submit and process operational requests as instructed by the Advisor and/or client (funds distributions, check deposits, journals, client/account updates, ACAT initiation).
- Work with Advisors to review reports (e.g., insufficient funds for distributions, unmet RMDs).
- May assist with physical branch needs (opening/closing, maintenance requests).
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and related training.
- Experience in the securities industry and/or a sales assistant role.
- Knowledge of securities markets and brokerage accounts.
- Knowledge of annuity products.
- FINRA SIE, Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.
- Exceptional telephone skills and ability to interact professionally with clients regarding securities transactions.
- Effective time management and ability to work in a self-directed fashion.
- Strong communication skills with clients, managers, and teammates.
- Ability to assimilate detailed and complex information.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Nice to Have
- Three years of experience in the securities industry.
- Previous sales and/or banking experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, banking, or related field.
- Experience in a call center or brokerage environment focused on outbound sales.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00.
- Additional incentive pay available.
