Financial Accountant II

About the Role

ICON is seeking a Financial Accountant II in Chennai to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and support for strategic financial planning. You will manage financial statements, lead month-end and year-end close, perform detailed financial analysis, maintain strong internal controls, participate in audits, build financial models, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure accurate and efficient operations. What You'll Do

• Manage and oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.

• Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements, and participate in internal and external audits.

• Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support for various business initiatives and projects.

• Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. What We're Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• CA/CMA inter qualified.

• 10+ years of experience in AR Collections and Cash Applications.

• Extensive experience in financial accounting, with a proven track record of managing financial reporting and compliance.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.

• Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and provide clear financial insights.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Nice to Have
