Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Specialist to join our Nigeria team. This role will be responsible for local currency payments, expense review, and related accounting operations in Nigeria. It is a key position in ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant local financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Disbursement and Reconciliation:
- Execute and record local currency (NGN) payments, ensuring accuracy between book records and actual transactions.
- Liaise with third parties such as banks, payment service providers, or funding partners to process payment requests and perform regular reconciliations.
Expense Review and Compliance Control:
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of all daily expenses incurred locally in Nigeria, including but not limited to travel (transportation, accommodation, meals), office expenses, ensuring authenticity, reasonableness, and compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Perform accounting entries for approved expenses, summarize and organize supporting documents to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and systematic archiving of financial records.
Financial Support, Communication:
- Serve as one of the primary contacts for the headquarters (China) finance team, conducting clear and timely daily communication and coordination regarding expenses, payments, and compliance matters.
- Provide necessary explanations and support to local business teams regarding expense-related policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Excellent bilingual proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English (verbal and written), with the ability to conduct professional financial communication, write emails, and process financial documents fluently in Chinese. This is a core requirement.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant work experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proficient in office software (e.g., Excel).
- Detail-oriented, responsible, with excellent cross-cultural communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
