Finance Manager

About the Role The Finance Manager will oversee the organization's financial health by managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis. This role ensures compliance with financial regulations, supports strategic decision-making, and leads the finance team to maintain accurate records and improve financial performance. The Finance Manager works closely with senior management to develop financial strategies and optimize resource allocation. What You'll Do

• Develop and implement accounting & finance policies, procedures, and controls to minimize operational risk and fraud.
• Ensure accurate, real-time posting of transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
• Lead Financial Planning & Analysis: develop long-term financial strategy, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports with variance analysis; identify cost-saving opportunities and strategic risks.
• Prepare and present financial statements and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and statutory filings; provide dashboards and insights to management.
• Maintain integrity of the Statement of Financial Position: substantiate assets/liabilities, prepare age analysis for receivables/payables, reconcile balances, maintain Fixed Assets Register, and support periodic physical counts.
• Manage Cash Flow & Treasury: monitor daily cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, liquidity, and currency exposure as applicable.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks; ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls; oversee statutory deductions management and remittance; reconcile related GL accounts.
• Lead and develop the finance team: supervise junior staff, foster continuous improvement, and manage performance.
• Partner with department heads to drive business performance: provide financial advice, support investment decisions via modelling and ROI analysis, and contribute to negotiations, pricing, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Develop and maintain an efficient electronic transaction documentation system to ensure availability and retrievability of supporting documents. What We're Looking For
• A Bachelor's degree (SC) or HND in any discipline, plus ICAN/ACA or ACCA professional qualification.
• 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in Accounts/Finance.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP ByD).
• Key Skills & Competencies:
• Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Good knowledge and understanding of IFRS.
• Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyze financial data and interpret financial reports.
• Good problem-solving skills and results oriented.
• Ability to produce high-quality output under pressure and with limited resources.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
