About the Role This exempt role oversees the financial impact of multiple departments on the corporate budget and financial statements. It conducts pre- and post-program analyses to assess program effectiveness and ensure accurate reporting. The role also leads group budget reviews and provides financial support to operations, with responsibility for up to two direct reports at Kia’s Irvine campus. What You'll Do
- Oversee program review and expense reconciliation; analyze department budget requests for programs and services.
- Lead financial reporting and analysis, including monthly variance reporting and monthly/quarterly forecasts.
- Manage month-end and year-end close; coordinate accruals, review departmental accruals, and ensure timely posting of period-ending journal entries to the General Ledger.
- Conduct program audits to document results and verify performance/goals.
- Provide department support through ad hoc data analysis and other requested financial insights.
- Create and update expense-tracking reports for senior finance management; prepare weekly/monthly variance summaries (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast) with drivers, risks, and recommended actions.
- Manage accrual process by gathering inputs, validating support, submitting/recording accruals, and tracking reversals.
- Monitor budget pacing and forecast accuracy; identify overruns/underruns early and propose mitigations.
- Ensure proper recognition of expenses and income for timely monthly close.
- Lead quarterly and annual Business Plan review meetings with Business Units; coordinate with departments to understand financial impact of program spending.
- Manage the activities of up to two direct reports across multiple business units. What We're Looking For
- BS in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years in a management role overseeing corporate budgets; automotive industry experience preferred.
- Experience managing one or more direct reports.
- Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
- Experience communicating and coordinating with multiple departments.
- Experience working with Marketing/Advertising spend preferred but not required.
- Specialized Skills and Knowledge: Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables); Excellent communication (oral and written); ability to lead and conduct meetings; analytical skills; ability to work with multiple data sets to identify financial trends; sound judgment and discretion with sensitive matters. - Pay Range: $89,936.24 - $121,409 per year
