Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Lagos

Reports To: Managing Director

Job Summary

• We are looking to hire a Head of Finance who will provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all financial activities of the company.
• The role is responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting, treasury management, financial reporting, tax compliance, risk management, and business performance.
• The successful candidate will ensure the company’s financial sustainability while supporting growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in line with corporate objectives.

• Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.

• Manage treasury operations, cash flow and banking relationships

• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements.

• Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and risk management frameworks.

• Establish and maintain accurate financial records.

• Monitor financial performance and provide strategic reports/recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

• Oversee accounts payable and fixed assets.

• Implement audit recommendations.

• Provide financial insights and reports to the Executive Management.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Partner with retail operations, procurement, and sales teams to optimize costs and improve financial performance.

• Ensure prompt payment to vendors and suppliers.

• Ensure monthly reconciliation of bank statements with the ledger and timely posting of reports.

• Oversee prompt lodgement of transactions to the bank (Cash and Cheques).

• Ensure daily posting of financial transactions.

• Maintain an accurate financial record.

• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely and accurate financial reporting

• Achievement of budget and profitability targets

• Effective cash flow and working capital management

• Compliance with statutory and tax obligations

• Reduction in financial and operational risks

• Cost optimization and improved operational efficiency

• Successful audit outcomes with minimal findings

• Finance team productivity and development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.

• Professional Certifications

• Candidates must possess one or more of the following recognized professional qualifications:

• ACCA – Association of Chartered Certified Accountants

• ACA – Associate Chartered Accountant

• Additional qualifications such as an MBA (Finance), CFA, or CPA will be an added advantage.

Salary

N500,000 - N700,000 per month.
