About the Role Astera Institute seeks a Finance Lead (Contract to Hire) to oversee FP&A, drive operations, and manage reporting. Based in Emeryville, CA, this role offers a path to full-time employment and partners with leadership to scale finance in a fast-growing foundation. What You'll Do
- Lead FP&A, driving planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance processes.
- Oversee reporting, dashboards, and financial communications to executives and external stakeholders.
- Manage treasury, risk, compliance, audit and tax oversight.
- Oversee grants management, budgets, and compliance for funded programs.
- Partner cross-functionally to support startup/rapid-growth initiatives and optimize internal controls.
- Build strong relationships and communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners. What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of finance leadership experience with end-to-end accounting, treasury, compliance, FP&A, audit and tax oversight.
- Experience with grants and budgets, and comfort in a startup/rapid-growth environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to drive initiatives and influence across the organization. Nice to Have
- Experience with Ramp or other modern financial tools. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $200,000-$275,000 per year (USD). Onsite, full-time role based in Emeryville, California.
