Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, financial controls, statutory compliance, audit coordination, and team leadership. This role requires a highly analytical finance professional who can strengthen internal controls, improve financial processes, protect company profitability, and provide accurate financial insights that support business growth and decision-making. Ultimately, you will ensure sound financial management by maintaining accurate financial records, enforcing financial discipline, and building a high-performing finance function that supports the organization's long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and ensure timely submission to management.
- Develop, implement, and monitor budgets while tracking actual expenditure against approved budgets.
- Monitor company costs, profitability, and gross margins, providing recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Establish and strengthen internal financial controls, policies, and accounting procedures.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow management, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely statutory remittances, tax compliance, regulatory filings, and audit readiness.
- Lead and supervise the Finance & Accounts team, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
- Coordinate internal and external audits while implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Utilize ERP systems and financial reporting tools to improve financial visibility and operational efficiency.
- Prepare financial forecasts, management reports, and business performance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve finance processes across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as ICAN (ACA), ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years' progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, treasury management, taxation, and financial controls.
- Experience using ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent understanding of statutory compliance, audit processes, and financial governance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing finance teams.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Salary
N520,000 net (based on experience).
