• The Finance Accounting Assistant provides routine finance and accounting support activities for a department or business unit. The position performs clerical, administrative, and transactional duties related to accounting functions while supporting controlling and compliance processes within established policies and procedures. Responsibilities include processing invoices and payments, preparing routine journal entries, maintaining financial records, supporting account reconciliations and close activities, and assisting with audits and financial documentation. The position helps ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions in accordance with organizational policies, fund accounting requirements, established accounting practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow our Code of Conduct and consistently demonstrate our Values
• Process vendor invoices, payments, employee reimbursements, and other routine accounting transactions.
• Prepare and post routine journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Verify transaction coding, supporting documentation, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform account reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Maintain financial records, vendor files, and supporting documentation in accordance with retention requirements.
• Support audits, reporting activities, and compliance reviews by providing requested documentation and information.
• Assist with financial data validation and provide support for accounting, controlling, and compliance activities as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

• Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in accounting or related field and 2 years' related work experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience using automated accounting systems
• Experience working with basic principles in accounting or in analyzing financial figures.
• Experience in database management or producing reports, or in the use of automated systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bi-lingual Spanish/English abilities are preferred (at least a working level of reading and writing in English is needed)

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy in work product.

• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
