About the Role The Field Technician will perform high-quality service and maintenance on the full line of equipment, attachments, and components represented or supported by VCES. This role champions a safety-first, customer-focused, and continuous-improvement culture and adheres to all VCES policies and standards in a field environment. What You'll Do
- Demonstrate safe and proper application of hand, pneumatic, and electric tools.
- Perform tasks from verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with the supervisor and co-workers.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide quality repairs on the full line of products and components represented by VCES.
- Demonstrate proper application and use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work primarily in the field environment, with occasional shop assistance.
- Possess working knowledge of hydraulic, air, electrical, and lubrication systems.
- Able to work on and around heavy construction equipment, including climbing and accessing hard-to-reach areas.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Bring a set of tools sufficient to perform the job and maintain and secure them properly.
- Maintain consistent follow-through on parts ordering, retrieval, customer follow-up, and work order status.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Maintain professionalism in customer interactions and correspondence.
- Willing to accept responsibility, be flexible to assignments, and work overtime when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on construction-related equipment.
- Technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs.
- Prior experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Background with hydraulics and diesel engines preferred. Nice to Have
