Job title: Field Technician
About the Role Field technician to perform high quality service and maintenance to the full line of equipment and components represented by VCES. This role champions a Safety First, Customer Focused and Continuous Improvement culture, adheres to company policies, and maintains professional customer relations while working safely in the field.
What You'll Do
- Demonstrate safe and proper application of hand, pneumatic and electric tools.
- Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide quality repairs on the full line of products and components represented by VCES.
- Use all required PPE and work in field and occasional shop environments.
- Have working knowledge of hydraulic, air, electrical and lubrication systems.
- Work on around heavy construction equipment, climb and access hard-to-reach areas; lift up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain and secure your own set of tools; assist with parts ordering and retrieval, and keep customers informed.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record; maintain high professionalism in customer interactions and correspondence.
- Be flexible with assignments and willing to work overtime when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working on construction-related equipment.
- Technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs; prior experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Background with hydraulics and diesel engines preferred.
- Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods and frequent bending, stooping, overhead reaching; occasional climbing of stairs; lifting up to 50 lbs and sometimes more.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; professional demeanor in customer interactions.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed.
Nice to Have
- Hydraulics and diesel engines experience; construction industry background preferred.
