Job title: Field Software Engineer
About the Role Join ASM as a Field Software Engineer supporting customers with software products in semiconductor technologies. This role focuses on translating customer needs into software requirements, delivering timely software releases, and providing hands-on support at customer sites.
What You'll Do
- Participate in the Software Development Process
- Submit requirements based on customer input and field experience.
- Review specifications and designs as a customer advocate.
- Review release notes and be prepared to explain new features and bug fixes to customers.
- Present new software releases to the customer base.
- Travel to customer factories as needed to provide timely and effective software support.
- Diagnose, document and resolve software issues in the field.
- Work closely with Product Team including software & hardware engineers, process engineers and marketing to develop requirements and design definition for software features.
- Work with Product Support to investigate and resolve field reported issues on released products.
- Work with Software Quality Group to test on Product simulators.
- Conduct training sessions for customers on how to use our software products effectively.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions and issue resolutions.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with command level scripting for MS Windows and other operating systems.
- C# programming skills.
- PowerShell scripting skills.
- Understanding of SW development cycle, from requirements to testing, integration and delivery.
- Systems Management Experience with MS Windows.
- A team-player attitude and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel and to work in a Clean Room environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Minimum BS CS or related Engineering degree with experience in software development.
- Experience with SECS/GEM manufacturing communication protocols (preferred).
- Ethernet TCP/IP and RS-232 communication interfaces (preferred).
