Context

We are looking for 2 vibration specialists to deliver Predictive Maintenance related services and facilitate customer Training when required. The secondary function involves performing corrective maintenance tasks at customer site and any other location as and when required.

This contract will be on below rotation:

  • Shifts of 6 weeks on-site, and 2 weeks break.

You will be employed by SKF in Ghana on a temporary contract and operate within the West African Region. We cover all administrative tasks and costs associated with immigration, travel, and accommodation to and from our client site. We provide return international flight tickets during the period of this contract and the necessary tools and PPE’s required to perform your duties.

A good level of English is mandatory.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A formal Mechanical or Electrical/ Maintenance Engineering qualification – BSc. Mech. Eng., B Tech Mech. Eng., NHD (Mech. Eng.) or ND. A trade qualification through a recognized institution can be considered.
  • A minimum Category II Vibration Analyst to ISO 18436 Standard, and Level I Infrared Thermography Certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in performing reliability service work is required, in a maintenance engineering environment.
  • Experienced user of PC-based software such MS Office, and exposure to/ knowledge of SAP (SAP-PM) systems and other CMMS applications.
  • Customer service attitude

KEY TASKS

  1. In pursuit of the job purpose described above, the key tasks of this job role includes, but not limited to:
  • Perform Asset Management Services including Condition Based Maintenance (CBM/ PdM) activities at customer sites.
  • Manage a schedule of time driven and even-based activities as they relate to Root Cause Analysis (RCA, RCFA) and troubleshooting of customer assets.
  • Undertake periodic and ad-hoc Infrared Thermography (IRT) Surveys, Vibration Analysis, Visual Inspections (Borescopy, etc), Oil sampling, and MCSA when required.
  • Compile a detailed report documenting findings and providing a clear recommendation based on the findings of a path to correction.
  • Perform other related tasks as recommended by the Engineering Services Manager.
  • Identify and manage opportunities emanating from SKF involvement in Asset Management activities on site.
  • Manage CBM site activities and provide a monthly management report detailing major events, success cases, avoided costs, and identification of improvement areas.

  2. Promote the SKF service portfolio and manage opportunities onsite
