About this role

About the Role The Field Services Engineer will join ANDRITZ's SMART Products team focused on Pulp and Paper Automation. You will perform project- and service-related tasks for customers across North America, including installation, commissioning, and startup of new systems, deliver lifecycle support services, respond to service inquiries, resolve technical issues, and serve as a subject matter expert for SMART Products (with a focus on ANDRITZ VIB profilers). What You'll Do

  • Install, commission, and start up new systems.
  • Deliver lifecycle support services and respond to customer service inquiries.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide timely updates to customers.
  • Serve as SME for SMART Products (including ANDRITZ VIB profilers) for the Pulp Mill, Stock Preparation area, and board/paper machines.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction for North American SMART product customers.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that technical matters are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and maintain technical reports in accordance with project scope or service inquiry requirements.
  • Ensure that all project and service work complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and professional development programs to stay up to date with new products and technologies.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed; regular travel across North America (Canada and Mexico) will be required. What We're Looking For
  • Associate's degree in electronics, engineering, mechatronics or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service or technical support roles.
  • Understanding of the pulp and paper manufacturing process is preferred, in particular paper machine operations.
  • Experience with data communications links between PLC and DCS (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet IP, etc).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Experience with instrumentation and electrification, including installation, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • This position requires regular travel across North America (including Canada and Mexico). Nice to Have
  • Understanding of the pulp and paper manufacturing process is preferred, particularly paper machine operations.
  • Experience with ANDRITZ VIB profilers or SMART Products.
  • Additional experience with field service in the pulp and paper industry is a plus.
