About the Role The Field Service Technician will support Motorola Solutions' Public Safety customers in Salisbury, MD, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation for complex RF and broadband systems. This role requires residing within a commutable distance to Salisbury and may involve travel around Maryland. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales to deliver reliable mission-critical communications solutions. What You'll Do
- Perform preventative maintenance, trend analysis, and comprehensive documentation on complex RF and broadband systems
- Develop solutions for complex technical issues related to system maintenance, upgrades, and support
- Engage in continuous training on the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales to maintain, optimize, and support advanced communication systems
- Optimize and support complex communication systems and software applications, including troubleshooting, provisioning of infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and Broadband systems
- Maintain, optimize, test, and document complex communication systems
- Provide weekly activity and accomplishment reports
- Demonstrate knowledge of RF systems (transmitters, receivers, antenna networks), standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques What We're Looking For
- Security+ or CompTIA or related certification is highly desirable
- Proficiency in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance (cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, bridges)
- Knowledge of wired/wireless communication systems, LAN/WAN
- Experience with logging/recording systems, RF interfaces, and networking equipment
- Computer literacy with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Strong self-management and interpersonal skills to work with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Ability to quickly solve customer problems in stressful situations
- Must have a current, valid driver’s license and be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers
- Must reside near Salisbury, MD or be willing to commute to Maryland public safety customers
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer sponsorship not available
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time around Maryland
- CJIS Security Policy and fingerprint background checks are required for access to controlled environments Nice to Have
- Motorola equipment or mission-critical digital mobile systems experience

- Target Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 USD
